Mrs. Brenda Sue Jenkins Colvard

Mrs. Brenda Sue Jenkins Colvard, age 68, of Dobson, NC passed away at her home on Wednesday morning October 7, 2015 after a short illness. She was born in Surry Co. on November 16, 1946 to the late Connie William and Lola Belle Childress Jenkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Larry Steven Colvard, Jr.; a granddaughter Isabella Grubbs. She was a retired Head Start Teacher and was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband Larry Steven Colvard of Dobson; a daughter and son-in-law Stephony and Chip Grubbs of Pilot Mountain; one grandson Trey Grubbs; two sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Ray Reece of Dobson, Gaye and Charles Rogers of Dobson; several nieces and nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday in the Cemetery of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Pastor Jonathan Barker will conduct the service. The family will receive friends in the cemetery of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church one hour before the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Colvard Family.
