Mrs. Brenda White Davis

Brenda went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2017. She was born in Surry County on November 24, 1942 to the late Charlie Cleveland White and the late Edna Corder White; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Wade Davis; sisters Irene Church, Vena Draughn, Kat Trivette; brothers Sanford White, Chuck White, Jim White; and her special dog Goldie. Brenda served for 30 years as the Land Records Manager for the Surry County Tax Office. Brenda had the reputation of being elegant in how she treated others. Brenda was a well-known servant at Fairview Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. She led the choir at Fairview for over 25 years. Brenda served on the WMU for many years. She ministered on three mission teams to Wyoming. She also took the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. Brenda touched many lives through her beautiful smile, joyful life, and Christian example. She was a mother, sister, and friend to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her kindness towards others was evident in her love to host and serve others. Her service to others was grounded in her supreme love for Jesus Christ. She enjoyed visiting God’s creation at the beach and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Surviving are her husband Joe Davis of Winston Salem, Daughter and Son-in-law Lisa and Warren Bailey of King; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; her special granddog Parker. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday April 8, 2017 at Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Blue Bryan and Dr. Dan Merritt will conduct the services. Her body will lie in state 30 min. before the service at the church. The family will receive friends at Fairview Baptist Church on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Bus Ministry in c/o Tommy Edmonds, 7659 NC 268, Dobson, NC 27017 and/or Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the entire dedicated staff at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.
