Mrs. Brenda Jefferies Harding

Mrs. Brenda Jefferies Harding age 73, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away at her home on Tuesday evening December 16, 2014. Mrs. Harding was born in Spartanburg County, SC on September 25, 1941 the daughter of the late Ferrest Lee and Helen Felmet Jefferies. Brenda started her career in banking with The Bank of Pilot Mountain and then worked with Planters Bank, Centura, and retired from RBC Centura. She later returned to banking and retired from Surrey Bank and Trust where she served as the Chief Operating Officer from the bank's inception in 1996. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain where she was a Deacon and a member of the choir. In addition, Brenda was very active with the Pilot Mountain Civic Club, Pilot Knob Park, and ABWA. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Samuel Earl Harding of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Coe of Pilot Mountain and Suzette and Lane Jessup of Westfield; her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jill Harding of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Tara Coe, Kaylie Jessup, Daniel Harding, and Garrett Harding; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Barnette, of Inman, SC. In addition to her parents Mrs. Harding was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Noel Jefferies. Funeral services will be held Friday December 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain with Rev. Mike Willard and Rev. Gene Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The Harding family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain on Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 316 West Main St. Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The Harding family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their love and support during her illness.
