Mrs. C. Jean Belcher Hylton, age 72 of Laurel Fork, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1935 in Patrick County. Mrs. Hylton was preceded in death by her husband, Harvie Hylton; one daughter, Brenda Faye Hylton; her father, Joseph Arlie Belcher; one brother, Leon Belcher; one sister, Lorna Pauline Belcher; and one daughter-in-law, Emma Jordan Hylton. She was a member of Conner's View Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hylton is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Williams of Laurel Fork, Wanda and Larry Ayers of Fancy Gap, Kathy and Bobby Gummelt of Hillsville and Sandra and Ronnie Ayers of Laurel Fork; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Candy Hylton of Laurel Fork and Wayne Hylton of Fancy Gap; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her mother, Josie Irene Cruise Belcher of Laurel Fork; one sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and James Fos Turman of Laurel Fork.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hylton will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Conner's View Primitive Baptist with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Charmaine Atkins, P.O.
