Mrs. Carol Sue Hawks Gilley

Mrs. Carol Sue Hawks Gilley, 72, of Mount Airy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening April 18, 2017 at her home. She was born November 19, 1944 in Henry County, VA to the late Carlie Hawks and Mamie Ann Carpenter Hawks. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed. Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Durham, Loretta and Tommy Lineberry, and Nancy Edwards; a son, Kenneth Gilley; grandchildren, Tracie Rodriguez, Dale Durham, Justin Lawson, Ashley Lineberry, Timothy Lineberry, and Haley Lineberry; a great grandson, Little Victor Rodriguez; sisters, Peggy Jean Moore, Allean Perdue, and Martha Whiggington; brothers, Carl Hawks and George Hawks; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Gilley; and a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Rodriguez. Graveside services will be held Friday April 21, 2017 at the Peoples Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM with services conducted by Bro. Kenneth Young and Bro. Kermit Cockerham. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 1:00 PM until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moody Funeral Services, Inc., PO Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
