Mrs. Carol June Nester Pruitt

Mrs. Carol June Nester Pruitt, 76 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday morning, October 13, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Patrick County, VA on May 15, 1940 to the late Wade Nester and Avis Smith Nester. Mrs. Pruitt was a loving wife, mother, Nana, and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. “The best Nana ever!” Mrs. Pruitt was a member of Blues Grove Baptist Church for sixty plus years. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dallas Ray Pruitt of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David Ray Pruitt and Sherrie of Dobson; a grandson, Timothy Ray Pruitt of Dobson; a granddaughter, Emily Mae Pruitt of Dobson; and numerous nieces and nephews and family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Nester; and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held on Sunday October 16, 2016 at Blues Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastors Sammy Lawson, Roland McCraw and Travis Sechrist officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday night at Blues Grove Baptist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Mrs. Pruitt will lie-in-state 30 minutes until time of the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
