Mrs. Carol Jean Boyd Setlilff

Mrs. Carol Jean Boyd Setliff, age 56 of Floyd, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on February 28, 1952 to the late Thomas Frank and Ocie Mae Dickerson Boyd. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Setliff was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Amos Setliff, and two brothers, David Cleveland Boyd and Alton Ray Boyd. She was a member of Thomasson Heights Baptist Church and had worked at Bassett Chair.
Mrs. Setliff is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas "Pat" and Sylvia Boyd; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Richard Howell, Margaret and Fred Keith and Martha and Larry Turpin, all of Floyd; 8 nieces, 7 nephews, 12 great-nieces, 14 great-nephews; a beloved mixed collie, Denise; and a special friend, Ralph Spraker of Bassett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Setliff will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Doby Salmons and Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
