Mrs. Carol Jean Mabe Wood

Mrs. Carol Jean Mabe Wood, age 56, of Meadows of Dan passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2015 at her home. She was born in Danbury, NC on Sept. 30, 1958. She was preceded in death by her father, George Mabe, and an infant sister, Doris Faye Mabe. Mrs. Wood was the co-owner of Wood's Produce Company. She was a devoted wife and mother and an astute business woman.

Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Mark Wood of the home; two sons and a daughter in law, Jonathon and Alice Wood of Mt. Airy, NC, Marcus Wood of Meadows of Dan; her mother, Betty Southern Mabe of Danbury, NC; two sisters, Lois Brown and Judy Mabe both of Danbury, NC; five brothers, Garland, Richard, David and Mark Mabe all of Danbury, NC, Phil Mabe of King, NC; a special nephew, Jacob Mabe of King, NC; and special family friends, Melvin and Ava Gene Terry of Meadows of Dan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Marcus Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Plaster Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
