Mrs. Catherine Louise Scarlett Walker

Mrs. Catherine Louise Scarlett Walker, age 89, of Mt. Airy, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2016. Mrs. Walker was born in Davidson County on January 1, 1927 to Levi and Bertie Myers Scarlett. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her loving family. Mrs. Walker will be remembered for her kindness and compassion shown to everyone she ever met. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Ann Walker; grandchildren, Scarlett Speight and husband David, Lori Gammons and husband Brad, Curt Walker; Bethany Walker, Makenzie Walker, Naomi Walker and Brandon Stout; great grandchildren, Dalton Quesinberry, Kyndal Quesinberry, Ellie Gammons and Luke Gammons; a daughter-in-law, Donna McNeill; a son-in-law, Bobby Holt; sisters, Margie Cox, and Alma Scarlett; and a brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Mary Scarlett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband of nearly seventy years, Rev. George Walter Walker; a daughter, Dianne Holt; a son, Mark Walker; a sister, Lillian Burrelson and brothers, Roscoe Scarlett, Everett Scarlett, Farris Scarlett, Archie Scarlett and Otis Scarlett. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 25, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Darrell Tate. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
