Mrs. Cathy P. Edmonds

Mrs. Cathy P. Edmonds, age 60, of Dobson, a loving wife and mother, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at her home. She was born in Surry County on May 25, 1951 to the late Wilbur Peele and to Virginia Johnson Peele. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and she was a retired Kindergarten teacher from Copeland Elementary School. Cathy had enjoyed her retirement years helping her husband on the family farm and caring for her family. She had spent the past months planning and preparing for the birth of her first granddaughter due to arrive in May. Surviving are her husband Tommy Dean Edmonds of the home; one son and daughter-in-law Aaron and Brooke Edmonds of Dobson; her mother Virginia J. Peele of Siloam;
mother-in-law Opal Edmonds of Dobson; brother-in-law Lonnie Edmonds of Dobson; niece and her husband Mandy and Sean Stanley of Davidson; great nieces Haven, and Salem,; great nephew Jack.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday December 23, 2011 at Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Andy Atkins, Rev. Dan Merritt, and Rev. Lee Johnson will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening December 22, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund 7659 NC HWY 268, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Edmonds family.
