Mrs. Cathy Spencer Lankford

Mrs. Cathy Spencer Lankford, age 67 of Claudville, Virginia passed away at her home on Friday, January 12, 2018. She was born on March 28, 1950 in Nebraska to the late Walter Spencer and Shirley Rasmussen Walker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Lankford, Jr. and an infant brother, Roger Spencer. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. Cathy loved everyone and enjoyed sending out cards as a ministry. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Lankford is survived by three children, Tina Marie Shinault and husband, Ricky of Claudville, Shvonda Cockram and husband, Trinity of Claudville, and John Aaron Lankford and fiancé, Angie Woods of Claudville; six grandchildren, Blake Lankford, Jamie Lankford, Brycen Cockram and wife Madison, Dustin Cockram, Colby Shinault and Holden Shinault; three sisters, Peggy Wagoner and husband, Carry of Stuart, Pam Errichetti of Stuart, and Margie Shough of Patrick Springs; one brother, Steven Spencer and wife, Rita of Rocky Mount; special daughter-in-law, Peggy Lankford and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Harrison and Rev. John Shelley officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
