Mrs. Cheryl Bowen Tate

Mrs. Cheryl Bowen Tate, age 56, of Elkin, NC passed away on Friday October 7, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Martin Co. KY to Tamzie Caudill Bowen and the late Robert Martin Bowen. She was a member of Welcome View Baptist Church. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother David Bowen. Surviving are her husband Jay Tate of the home; two daughters Michelle Hudson and her fiancé Daryl Sharpe of Wilkesboro, NC, Rebecka Tate of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law Terry and Alma Tate of Mt. Airy, Gary and Heather Thompson of Dobson; six grandchildren and one on the way; Mother Tamzie Caudill Bowen of Dobson; two sisters and brother-in-law Connie and Kevin Bowe of Dobson, Wanda Spark of Mt. Airy; one brother Jeffery Bowen of Dobson. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday October 10, 2016 at Welcome View Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tommy Shelton and Rev. Marty Reece will conduct the services. The family has requested in lieu of flowers Memorials be made to the Welcome View Baptist Church C/O Tammy Holt 274 Fish River Ch. Rd. Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family will receive friends at Welcome View Baptist Church on Monday for one hour before the service at 2:00 P.M.. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Tate Family.
