Mrs. Clara Joyce Flippin

Mrs. Clara Joyce Flippin, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on August 17, 1925. Mrs. Flippin was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Flippin; her parents, Charlie Joyce and Linnie Hill Joyce Mills; and one brother, Rev. Weldon Joyce. She was a longtime member at Stateline Primitive Baptist Church, and had been a nurse at R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Flippin is survived by three sons, Walter L. Flippin and wife, Shirley, of Spencer; Keith D. Flippin and wife, Brenda, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Timothy A. Flippin of London, England; four grandchildren, Scott Flippin, Joy Watson, Becky Burriss and Michael Flippin; and eight great-grandchildren, Holly, Adam, Meredith, Delaney, Michael Jr., Tanner, Ezekiel and Jedidiah; and special friends, Dewey Moss of Dry Pond and Dave Montgomery of London, England.
Funeral services for Mrs. Flippin will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Stateline Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Milton Gunter and Elder Scotty Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Stateline Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
