Mrs. Colleen Pearl Rogers Rakes

Mrs. Colleen Pearl Rogers Rakes, age 78 of Stuart, passed away Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on July 1, 1929 to the late Jesse and Louvie Clark Rogers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rakes was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Rakes, and two brothers, Jerry and Curtis Rakes. She was a member of the Big A Church of Christ.
Mrs. Rakes is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry G. and Wanda G. Rakes of Stuart and Danny R. and Janice V. Rakes of Danville; two grandchildren, David Rakes and Jennifer Riddle; and two sisters, Lucille Hatcher and Melba Stevens, both of South Carolina.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rakes will be held Friday, November 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
