Mrs. Connie Taylor Puckett

Mrs. Connie Mae Taylor Puckett, age 91 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday February 6, 2012 at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Puckett was born in Surry County on January 24, 1921. She was raised by her grandparents, Tom and Sarah Mathis. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Bruce and Peggy Puckett of Ararat, Wayne and Sharon Puckett of Mt. Airy, Cheryl Taylor of Lowgap and Jessie Sowers Puckett also of Lowgap; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Underwood of Mt. Airy; and special friends, Brenda, Summer and Maria. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband, Claude "Bud" Puckett; daughters, Lib Puckett, Audrey Puckett and Deborah Puckett; sons, Dennis Puckett and Wade Taylor and sisters, Lorita Johnson and Georgia Wilhite. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2012 at Blue Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Woody Flippen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home. Mrs. Puckett will be taken to her home Thursday morning where she will remain until the time to be taken to the church on Friday.
