Mrs. Cynthia Leigh Moser Gillispie, age 62, of Dobson, NC passed away Saturday morning April 7, 2018 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born August 19, 1955 in Newport News, VA to the late William Leo and Catherine Venable Moser. She was retired from Surry County Government as a Deputy Register of Deeds, and was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sara Catherine Moser; brother Milton Anthony “Tony” Moser; her grandparents Oscar and Shirley Moser, and Jerry and Sally Venable. Surviving are her husband, Ned Wilson Gillispie of the home; son and daughter-in-law Lucas and Elizabeth Gillispie of Dobson; granddaughters Elorah Gillispie, and Teaghan Gillispie, and a special stepmom, Alma Moser, and by two aunts and an uncle and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday April 11, 2018 at Salem Fork Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Sean Joplin, and Rev. Dan Merritt will officiate the services. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the Family Life Center of Salem Fork Baptist Church. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Gideons International Dobson Camp PO Box 791, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Gillispie family.
