Mrs. Dalphine Goode Willis

Mrs. Mary Dalphine Goode Willis, age 78, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on June 12, 2017. She was born in Danville, Virginia on February 18, 1939 to the late Dave Goode and Ocie Harris Goode. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death a brother, Johnnie Goode and a sister, Alvina Hylton. Mrs. Willis was a longtime member of Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Willis is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John “J.V.” Willis of the home; sister, Maxine Dillon and husband, Percy of Woolwine; several nieces and nephews; numerous grand nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Annie Goode of Woolwine; and a brother-in-law, Frank Hylton of Woolwine.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder David Komoda officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Linda Midkiff 393 Apple Tree Drive, Stuart, VA 24171, or to Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O.
