Mrs. Darsie Chaney Foley

Mrs. Darsie Chaney Foley, age 74 of Stuart passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County on May 18, 1934 to the late George and Callie Hall Chaney. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foley was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee "W.L." Foley; a son, Richard Lee Foley; a sister, Christine Dodson; and a brother, Dillard Chaney. She was a member of Fairystone Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, and had retired from Bassett-Walker Industries with 39 years of service. She had played guitar and sang with a nursing home ministry group and was a member of the Fairystone Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Foley is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Dreama Foley of Stuart; five grandchildren, Rodney Foley, Michelle Foley, Pamela Foley, Karson Foley and Kyle Foley; one great-grandson; and one step-great-grandson; one brother, Haywood Chaney of Bassett; and one sister, Estelle Cannaday of Bassett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Foley will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Fairystone Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Foley-Thomas-Rorrer Family cemetery on Heidlebach School Road. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of her son, Kenneth Foley, 352 Goose Market Loop, Stuart.
