Mrs. Debbie Shirlene Hawks Johnston

Mrs. Debbie Shirlene Hawks Johnston, age 61, of Dobson, NC, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Burlie Edward Hawks and to the late Annie Marie Hawks Hawks on November 1, 1956. She was retired from Spencer’s in Mt. Airy, and a member of Friendly Chapel Church. Surviving are her husband, Billy Gray Johnston, Jr. of Dobson; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lona Faye Freeman of Boonville, Mona and Eldon Lyons of N. Wilkesboro, Fernita and Bill Hutchens of Yadkinville, and Sherry Marie Hawks of Mt. Airy; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Joyce Hawks of Mt. Airy, Calvin and Doris Hawks of Pilot Mountain, Leon and Helen Hawks of Cana, VA, and Ronnie Dale and Ruby Hawks of Cana, VA; several nieces and nephews; and her special pet, Baby. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Brother Don Collins and Brother Ray Hawks, with burial to follow in the Friendly Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the time of her service at 3:00 PM.
