Mrs. Deborah Lynn Pell Poteat

Mrs. Deborah Lynn Pell Poteat, age 59, of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in Edgewood, KY. Mrs. Poteat was born in Surry County on August 7, 1957, to Rev. Willis Hobert Pell, II and Fenten Marie McBride Pell. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear sister. Those who will always cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Poteat; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Marcos Hernandez; grandchildren, Isabella Hernandez and Alex Hernandez; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Karen Pell; nieces, Ami Mills and Kayla Pell; a great nephew, Jaxon Pell and a great niece, Peighton Mills. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poteat was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Warren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. David Sechrist and Rev. Jay L. Young. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
