Mrs. Debra Kirkman Sawyers

On Tuesday, October 15, 2013 Mrs. Debra Kirkman Sawyers entered the Portals of Heaven to forever be with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Surry County on May 3, 1954 to Beatrice Chaney Kirkman and the late Frank Kirkman. Mrs. Sawyers was employed by Northern Hospital of Surry County as a Certified Nurses Assistant and a faithful member of Pilot Mountain Community Church. She lived her life in service for the Lord and the family she dearly cherished. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Pastor Gary Sawyers, of the home; her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Coty Frank and Beverly Sawyers, of Ararat; four sisters, Vernice Johnson of Raleigh, Evelyn and husband Paul Secrest of Copeland, Glenda and husband Ronnie Mears of Mount Airy and Judy Kirkman of Ventura California; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Nellie Kirkman of Mount Airy. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Lee Freeman and Rev. Steve Johnson with burial to follow in New Beginnings Baptist Church cemetery, off Siloam Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm.
