Mrs. Delcie H. Holt, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County on January 4, 1927 to the late Robert and Amanda Inman Holt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband Edgar "Ed" Holt, and a granddaughter, Patty Sue Stanley. She was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Westfield, North Carolina.
Mrs. Holt is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Dean Shelton and Patsy and Bennie Baliles, all of Stuart and Linda and Randall Fain of Ararat; five sons and daughters-in-laws, Paul and Janet Holt, Jimmie and Nancy Holt, James Holt, Walter Holt and Wilbur and Rhonda Holt, all of Stuart; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Holt of Lawsonville, North Carolina; her step-mother, Iva H. Pack of Westfield; three half-sisters, Louise Needham of Pinnacle, North Carolina, Pauline McNeill of Kernersville, North Carolina, and Ruby Beasley of Westfield; one half-brother, Roger Holt of Westfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Peggy hall, Jennifer Edmonds and Willie Mae Ware.
Funeral services for Mrs. Holt will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Revs. Jim Churchwell, Gary Gossett, J. R. Shelton and Tommy Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Aaron's Corner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of her son, Paul Holt.
