Mrs. Dorothy Hamlin Brooks

Mrs. Dorothy Hamlin Brooks, age 81 of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice home. She was born January 7, 1935 in Stokes County to the late Coley Bob and Ester Sands Hamlin. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Wayne Farms. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lee Brooks; her daughter, Vicky and Ricky Shockley of Dobson, and Special daughter, Sandra Wood of Rockford; her son, Johnnie Lee Brooks of Dobson; her sister Judy Mabe of Danbury; her brothers Billy Hamlin and Jesse Hamlin of Walnut Cove; seven grandchildren; thirteen surviving great grandchildren and three deceased great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2017 from 1-2 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The Funeral will begin at 2 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Joe Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in the Dobson City Cemetery.
