Mrs. Dorothy Snoddy Chandler

Mrs. Dorothy Snoddy Chandler, age 82 of Mt. Airy passed away at her home on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Mrs. Chandler was born in Surry County on November 22, 1928 to the late Robert and Ann Griffith Snoddy. She retired Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and was a long time and faithful member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Chandler is survived by a daughter Gail James of St. George Island, FL; a son, Lance Chandler of Tokyo, Japan; two grandchildren, Ryan Buck and Emily Buck both of FL; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Inez Chandler and many wonderful friends. In addition to her parents Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Gilmer Chandler; a brother, John Snoddy. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church by Rev. Glenda Bramlett. Burial will be at Skyline Memory Gardens.
