Mrs. Dorothy Mae Fain went to be with her Lord on Saturday January 23, 2010 at the age of 74. Born October 13, 1935 to the parents of John Leonard and Myrtle Sarah Edwards Fain she was one of sixteen children. Dorothy lived her entire life in Patrick County and was of Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her antiques, yard sales, gardening, and canning. In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by sisters, Della Cook Young and Doris Nunn, and a brother Wayne Fain. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years James E. Fain, one daughter Wanda Fain Shough and one grandson Jason T. Shough all of Stuart. Sisters and brothers-in-laws, Delphia and Jack Wall of Dobson, NC, Ruby and Joel Sheppard of Westfield, NC, Judy and John Bowman of Meadows of Dan, VA, Brenda and Doug Wilkey of Mt. Airy, NC, and Linda and Ed Hill of Cana, VA Brothers and sister-in-laws, Arlice and Kathleen Fain of Ararat, VA, Albert and Patty Fain of Stuart, VA, Bruce and Margaret Fain of Henry,VA, William and Kay Fain of Fieldale, VA, Burton and Vickie Fain of Stuart, VA, Carl and Linda Fain of Stuart, VA, and Harold and Shirley Fain of Stuart, VA also Aunt and Uncle Edna and Clyde Hill of Claudville, VA and Aunt Mable Cooper of Martinsville, VA and several nieces and nephews Funeral services for Mrs. Fain will be Tuesday January 26, 2010 at 2 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Rev. Bernard Handy and Elder Donnie Conner officiating burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday January 25, 2010 from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
