Mrs. Dorothy Puckett Hooker

Mrs. Dorothy Puckett Hooker, age 95 of Lawsonville, North Carolina passed away on Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on February 2, 1912 to the late Jonah and Anna Laura Cockram Puckett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooker was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt Hooker; one son, Clifford Hooker; one daughter, Eula Mae Flinchum; one grandson, Tommy Hooker; and four brothers, Edwin, James, Ward and L.A. "Bud" Puckett. She was a member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Hooker is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Forister and Inez Hooker and Fred and Lillian Hooker, and Gurney Hooker, all of Lawsonville, North Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carlene and Donnie Bullins of Danbury, North Carolina and Becky and Steve Flinchum of Lawsonville; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Susan Goad of Stuart, Irene Hogans of Virgilina, Virginia and Ruth Ayers of Danville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hooker will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Allen Dawson, Marcus Hooker and Manuel Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Minnies Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
