Mrs. Dorothy Anne Holt Nowlin

Mrs. Dorothy Anne Holt Nowlin, age 76 of South Mayo Drive, Stuart, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on September 14, 1931 to the late Brockley and Clemmie Gilbert Holt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nowlin was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Mitchell Nowlin, Sr. and two brothers, Bill and Jim Holt. She was a 1950 graduate of Stuart High School, had retired from United Elastic Corporation, and had worked in the kitchen at the Landmark Center.
Mrs. Nowlin is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Elmo Mitchell "Mitch" Nowlin, Jr. and Pamela, of Stuart; two grandsons, Elmo Mitchell "Trea" Nowlin, III Jonathan William Nowlin; one sister, Lucille Robertson of Ridgeway; one brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Betty Holt of Stuart; and two sisters-in-law, Nell Holt of Stuart and Annie Nowlin of Patrick Springs.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nowlin will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Milton Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in the High Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and on Saturday at the home at 1361 South Mayo Drive, Stuart.
