Mrs. Dorothy Marie Hughes Terry

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Hughes Terry, age 76 of Ridgeway, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, North Carolina. She was born in Patrick County on January 30, 1935 to the late James Patterson Hughes and Ocie Morrison Hughes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by a son, Herbert H. Terry; five brothers, Roy Hughes, John Taylor Hughes, Joe Goldie Hughes, William Brewster Hughes and an infant; seven sisters, Laura Gilbert, Mildred Hatcher, Ruby McGirk, Velma Howard, Beadie Kallam, and two infants. She was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church in Alexandria.
Mrs. Terry is survived by her husband of 54 years, Noel Bernard Terry, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and David Durant of Landenberg, Pennsylvania; one son, Noel Bernard Terry, Jr. of Oro Valley, Arizona; and one sister, Crystal Arlene Hughes Shelor of Ridgeway.
Funeral services for Mrs. Terry will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Vesta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
