Mrs. Edith Menczer Jonas

Edith (Menczer) Jonas, wife of John Jonas, passed away at home in Meadows of Dan on January 25, 2011. Edith was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1916. After several years living as refugees in Germany following WWII, she and John with their two oldest sons immigrated to the United States in 1951. Upon retirement, Edith and John found their way to the Mountaintop in 1977 where they established their final home. She carried within herself the songs and poetry of her Hungarian homeland throughout her life. Edith will be fondly remembered by her husband John; three sons, Steven, George and Peter; grandson Steven John; and three daughters-in-law, Connie, Patti, and Kathleen. For anyone wishing to pay respects to John, please contact the family at his Meadows of Dan residence. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is assisting the family.
