Mrs. Edna Richardson Lopez

Mrs. Edna Richardson Lopez, age 88 of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Landmark Center in Stuart. She was born in Floyd County on July 25, 1921 to the late Henry E. "Canie" Richardson and Linda Stanley Richardson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Lopez, and two brothers, Ephraim Richardson and Estien Richardson. She was a member of Conner's View Primitive Baptist Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Virginia Rebekah Lodge, and was a 1941 graduate of Meadows of Dan High School. She retired from Hampco Apparel Company with 43 years of service.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by one sister, Evelyn Richardson Stanley of Rural Hall, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lopez will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Richardson Family Cemetery in Meadows of Dan. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home until time of the service.
