Mrs. Effie Mae Ayers Pruitt

Mrs. Effie Mae Ayers Pruitt, 89, of Hillsville, VA passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home on Friday, February 24, 2017. She was born in Carroll County, VA on January 26, 1928 to the late Robert “Bob” and Susie Collins Ayers. Mrs. Pruitt was co-owner with her husband of a country store and a member of Rome Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Ayers and husband, Howard, Dania Pruitt; sons, L.W. Pruitt, Rodney Pruitt and fiancée, Beverly Watson, Dale Pruitt and wife, Angie, Jeff Pruitt; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Tammy Haynes, Freddy and Michelle Haynes, Jason and Susan Pruitt, Kevin and Sissy Pruitt, Tonya and Greg Ardner, Sandra Dean, Jody Nicola, Tesla Pruitt, Breanna Pruitt; nine great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, sisters, Sylvia Ayers, Mary McMillian, and one brother, James Ayers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her husband, Lane Oscar Pruitt; a daughter, Faye Haynes; a great grandson, Matthew Dean; and a sister, Magaline Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 27, 2017 at Rome Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Haynes, Rev. Terry McMillian, and Rev. Scotty Bullins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
