Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Cockerham Branch

Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Cockerham Branch, 86, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on October 23, 1930 to the late John Ford and Mattie Elizabeth Poole Cockerham. Mrs. Branch was a retired Teacher from Mt. Airy City Schools and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branch was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lloyd Branch; a sister, Margaret Cockerham DeJournette; brothers, John Bert Cockerham, and Joseph Pascall Cockerham. A private graveside service will be held at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Rev. Mickey Cogdill officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Branch family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bannertown Baptist Church, 1834 Westfield Rd., Mt.
