Mrs. Elizabeth Wood Brinegar, age 76 of Spencer passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her home. She was born in Henry County on November 4, 1932 to the late Harry Edwin and Nannie Kate Biggs Wood. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brinegar was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Wood Freeman. She was a longtime member of Mayo Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brinegar is survived by her husband of 56 years, George Daniel Brinegar of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia B. and Chuck Estes of Virginia Beach, and Dianne B. and Barry Smith of Spencer; three grandchildren, Alex Baker, Josh Baker and Jordan Estes; and two great-grandchildren, Daniel Baker and Dustin Baker; and one sister, Margaret Evelyn Coleman Stein of Spencer.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brinegar will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mayo Baptist Church with Pastor Robbie Catoe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
