Mrs. Elizabeth Whitaker Easter

Mrs. Elizabeth Whitaker Easter, age 96 of Lowgap, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Easter was born in Surry County on May 29, 1916 to Robert and Molly Wood Whitaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Helen Easter of Mt. Airy; Curtis and Cathy Easter; Eldridge and Linda Easter all of Lowgap; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; sisters, Liza Chandler and Gladys Creed both of Mt. Airy and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Marie Whitaker and Claude and Grace Whitaker all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Easter; sons, Warren Easter and Joseph Michael Easter; a granddaughter, Rhonda Easter; a grandson, Mike Easter; five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 18, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tony Holder. Burial will follow in Zion Primitive Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
