Mrs. Elizabeth Lee Semones Lawson

Mrs. Elizabeth Lee Semones Lawson, age 81 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday morning July 30, 2016 at Village Care of King. Mrs. Lawson was born on October 3, 1934 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Paul James Semones and Lula Mae Midkiff Semones. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a dedicated employee of JC Penney for thirty plus years. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Joe Pyles of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Mitch Dawson, Shannon Wood and Randy, Jody Pyles and Ashley, and Joel Pyles; great-grandchildren, Morgan Dawson, Mackenzie Dawson, Brodie Dawson, and Blake Wood; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Goad, Esther Jackson, and Mildred and Egbert Jones; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, Burlen Edward Lawson; two sisters, June Shinault and Bertha Littell; and a brother, Lewis Semones. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joe Pyles officiating with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of the service. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Village Care of King for all of the love and care during Mrs. Lawson’s stay.
