Mrs. Elizabeth Williams Smith



Mrs. Elizabeth Williams Smith, age 92 of Danville and formerly of Meadows of Dan, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville. She was born in Patrick County on July 23, 1917 to the late Joel and Berta Gardner Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Smith; a grandson; Kevin Lee Smith, a brother; J.G. Williams, and two infant sisters. She was a homemaker, a member of Meadows of Dan Baptist Church, and had been a volunteer at Blue Ridge Nursing Home.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Linda Smith of Martinsville, and Gene and Kathy Smith of Danville; a daughter; Jessie Marie Kelly of Abingdon; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister; Cora Grace Foley of Meadows of Dan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Building Fund, 2511 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Meadows of Dan, Virginia 24120. Moody Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
