Mrs. Ella Marie Atkins

Mrs. Ella Marie Sebastian Atkins, age 83, of Ararat, NC, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Atkins was born in Wilkes County on November 13, 1934, to Quincy and Maggie Corthern Sebastian. She was so loving and dear to all her family and many friends. She will be sorely missed. Among the many who will always cherish her sweet memory is her devoted husband, Lavern Atkins; daughters, Sheila Ferris and Pam Atkins; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Christina Atkins; grandchildren, Shanna Harrison, Melissa Harrison, Todd Harrison, Thaddeus Atkins, Allison Atkins, Carlee Dise, Cynthia Dise, Jessica Ferris, and Melanie Griffin; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie Steinbeck, Joyce and Robert Goodman, and Lois Mathis and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lee Stanley and brothers, James, Leonard, and Worth Ray Sebastian. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Little Mountain Baptist Church by Rev. Billy Watson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00.
