Mrs. Ellen Frances Edwards Ladd

Mrs. Ellen Frances Edwards Ladd, age 84 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at her home. She was born in Surry County on December 31, 1928 to Thomas Jefferson and Rebecca Elizabeth Tate Edwards. She was retired from Surry Friends of Seniors. Surviving are daughters, Mary Snow of Mt. Airy; Brenda Irwin, Susie Worrell and Janie Easter and sons, Alfred Ladd, Jr., Grady Ladd, Phillip Ladd and Bobby Ladd; 24 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Lynn Edwards and Paul and Jean Edwards. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ladd was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lee Ladd, Sr.; a daughter, Linda Combs and a son, Teddy Ladd; four sisters, Violet Edwards, Nannie Tate, Velma Gwyn and Lottie Morton. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
