Mrs. Eloise Virginia Tolbert McHone

Mrs. Eloise Virginia Tolbert McHone, age 87 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. McHone was born in Surry County, February 23, 1924 to Rufus and Jettie Felts Tolbert. She was a loving homemaker. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ronald Sechrest of Ether; Rhonda and Ronald Brinkley of Mt. Airy; and Brenda and Gray Phillips of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Barbara Childress and Billy Gray and Ellen Childress all of Mt. Airy; nineteen grandchildren, thirty five great grand children and twelve great-great grandchildren and two sisters, Linda Gwynn and Doris Jessup both of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McHone was preceded in death by her husband, John McHone; a sister, Maudine Inman; an infant sister; a brother Herman Tolbert and four infant brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Slate and Rev. Dale Pack. Burial will follow in Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
