Mrs. Elvie Hooker Vipperman

Mrs. Elvie Hooker Vipperman, age 86 of Patrick Springs, passed from this life on July 14, 2013 at her home, and is now shouting on the streets of glory. She was born in Patrick County on July 1, 1927 to the late John Millard Hooker and Mandy Lee Pack Hooker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vipperman was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Vipperman; two brothers, Merritt and Millard Hooker; and four sisters, Josie Boyd, Ethel Marshall, Jenny Howell and Margie Hylton Peters. She was the mother of Abiding Grace Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a longtime member.
Mrs. Vipperman is survived by nine children and their spouses, Henry and Ann Vipperman of Bassett, Shirley Leath of Stuart, Glennie and Sanford Clifton of Patrick Springs, Jimmy and Eva Vipperman of Patrick Springs, James Vipperman of Critz, Bonnie Reynolds of Walkertown, North Carolina, Paul Vipperman of Patrick Springs, Mary and Daniel Quesenberry of Spencer, Amos and Connie Vipperman of Patrick Springs; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; and special friends, Rachel Martin, Tanya Joyce and June Ann Sigmon.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vipperman will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Abiding Grace Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor J.R. Vipperman, Stacy Vipperman and Rev. Michael Leath officiating. Burial will follow in the Hooker Family Cemetery in Vesta. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
