Mrs. Elzie Dalton Spence

Mrs. Elzie Dalton Spence, age 87 of Martinsville and formerly of Stuart passed away at the home of her daughter. She was born on Oct. 18, 1924 in Patrick County to the late Abe Ester Dalton and Sue Elzie Haley Dalton. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Spence; one son, Ronnie Spence; a granddaughter, Rhonda Spence; three sisters, Zelma Foley, Margaret Simpson, Sally Simmons; and one brother, Thomas Dalton.
Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Pamela and David Morse of Martinsville; three sons and daughters in law, Buddy and Lorraine Spence of Salisbury, MD; Ricky and Nancy Spence of Claudville, Thomas and Lisa Spence of Stuart; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; five step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and two brothers, James "Sonny" Dalton of Walnut Cove, NC, and Billy Dalton of Stuart.
A family night will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. All other services will be private.
