Mrs. Emma Juanita Willard Bowman

Mrs. Emma Juanita Willard Bowman, 101, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Brookridge Baptist Retirement Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Carroll County, VA to the late General Meiggs “G.M.” and Cora Lee Westmoreland Willard. Mrs. Bowman was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who always brought a smile to those around her. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Laney Ralph Bowman and Roger Dale Bowman; a grandson Joel Edward Bowman; great granddaughter, Jordan Marie Bowman; a sister, Maude Morris, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Edward Bowman; a great-grandson, Joshua Michael Bowman; three sisters, Lettie Thomas, Hester McCreary, and Josie Robinson; and four brothers, Roy, Troy, Dewey and Billy Willard. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00PM at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Tyler Hege and Rev. Dennis “Bud” Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 12:30 – 1:30PM. The Bowman family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Brookridge Baptist Retirement Home for all of the love and care shown to Mrs. Bowman during her stay.
