Mrs. Ersell Audrey Hayden

Mrs. Ersell Audrey Hayden, 94, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born March 4, 1923 to the late Hillary and Laura Tilley Jessup. Mrs. Hayden was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are two daughters and sons-in-law; Geraldine and Leon Hooker, Wanda and Bruce Branch, a son and daughter-in-law; Wayne and Carolyn Hayden, a brother; Otis Jessup, sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen and Libby Jessup, a sister and brother-in-law; Helen and Larry Moorefield, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her husband; Graham Hayden as well as a daughter Faye Atkins, three brothers; Alvin, Burton and Raymond Jessup, a sister Betty Lou Beane. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday April 21, 2017 at Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church with services conducted by Rev. Tony Goins and Rev. Deward Scott with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
