Mrs. Essie Hylton Conner

Mrs. Essie Hylton Conner, age 95 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Berkshire Nursing Home in Vinton. She was born in Patrick County on November 29, 1918 to the late Robert C. and Lula Cockram Hylton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Conner; three brothers, Ray, Paul and Lacy Hylton; and two sisters, Ola Walker and Pauline Evans. She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church and had retired from J.P. Stevens.
Mrs. Conner is survived by one son, Hansel Conner of Meadows of Dan; one daughter, Helen Spradlin of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Conway of Danville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Conner will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
