Mrs. Ethel Lawson Nester Royal

Mrs. Ethel Lawson Nester Royal, age 78 of Floyd passed away Saturday night at her home. She was born on April 8, 1933 to the late Manuel and Lucinda Rakes Lawson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mae Clark. Mrs. Royal had retired from United Elastic and attended Thomas Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Royal of Floyd; four daughters and sons in law, Sue and Maynard Nester, Jeanette Adkins, Lou and Doug Hall all of Meadows of Dan, Judy and Bob Bowman of Riner; two sons and daughters in law, Melvin and Margaret Nester of Meadows of Dan, Everette and Tabitha Nester of Willis; 10 Grandchildren, Landon Nester, Amanda Chavez, Robin Funk, April Hall, Kaitlyn Hall, B.J. Hall, Josh Nester, Chelsea Nester, Andy Bowman, Matt Bowman; 11 Great Grandchildren; and one brother, Frank Lawson of Martinsville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elders Lowell Hopkins and Tommy Pegram officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawson-Handy Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
