Mrs. Ethel Oneida Brown Russell

Mrs. Ethel Oneida Brown Russell, 99, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday March 3, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Charlottesville County, Virginia on May 1, 1917 to the late Purley Brown and Mary Payne Brown. Mrs. Russell was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was also of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Russell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold Ray Russell and wife Nancy; and granddaughter, Kim Gardner and husband Matthew. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Russell; three brothers and two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be on Monday March 6, 2017 at Northern Hospital in the educational room at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Person Memorial Cemetery, 3250 Durham Road, Roxboro, NC 27573 on Monday March 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM.
