Mrs. Etta Mae Bowman, age 88 of Stuart, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She was born in Patrick County on April 18, 1922 to the late Conner and Lula Nunn Bowman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bowman, one son, Carl Bowman; one daughter, Barnetta Bowman; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Beulah Amos of Stuart, Melba and James Curtis of Stuart, Mary Frances and Rick Benjamin of Northeast, Maryland, Brenda Woodward of Stuart, Mary L. and Don Chasteen of Stuart and Judith Wyatt of Elkton, Maryland; five sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Arlene Bowman of Elkton, James W. Bowman of Elkton, Calvin and Maria Bowman of Stuart, Randy Bowman of Roanoke, Virginia and David Bowman of Stuart; 29 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Bonnie Goad of Laurel Fork.
A graveside service for Mrs. Bowman will be held Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Jerry Keegan, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart until time to proceed to the cemetery, and at other times times at the home of her daughter, Mary Chasteen.
