Mrs. Eunice Lee Clanton Cobb

Mrs. Eunice Lee Clanton Cobb, age 89 of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 25, 2016. She was born in Patrick County on April 11, 1927 to the late Julius Alexander Clanton and Lucy Bell Reynolds. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harvey Cobb; a daughter, Lucy Ann Hunt; a great grandson, Emory Cobb; five sisters, Pauline Clanton, Ida Bea Penn, Marie Reynolds, Maxine Clanton, and Sallie Mae Clark; and three brothers, George Franklin Clanton, Marshall Clanton, and John Clanton. Mrs. Cobb was a member of Gethsemane Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was the mother of the church. She enjoyed watching things grow, especially flowers and children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Mrs. Cobb is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Zeke Hunt of Martinsville, VA, Clara Lee and Steve Penn of Spencer, VA, Dorothy Holmes of Critz, VA, Faye Cobb of Patrick Springs, VA, and LaVerne Penn of Patrick Springs, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. Cobb, Sr. and Rita of Patrick Springs, VA, and Michael Cobb and Denise of Burlington, NC; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and a great host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Cobb will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Pentecostal Holiness Church, located at 2380 Blackberry Rd, Bassett, VA 24055 with Bishop Gordon Warren eulogizing and Bishop Mac Daniel Preston presiding. Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Nebo Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery located in Patrick Springs, Virginia. A wake will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
