Mrs. Evelyn Lucille Flippin Collins, age 89 of Toano, Virginia, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on May 8, 1927 to the late George Cladie Flippin, Sr. and Emma Eddie Fuller Flippin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, William “Jack” Collins; and five brothers, Hubert, Carroll, Ernest, Willie and Bobby Flippin. She loved her family dearly. She also loved all children and her job at the Williamsburg Doll House where she made doll clothes.
Mrs. Collins is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dolly Sue and Steven Lavender of Ridgeway; a son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Patty Collins of Williamsburg; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way; a sister, Virginia Vaden of Westfield, North Carolina; three brothers, Dale Flippin of Critz, Cladie Flippin, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Stuart, Walter Flippen and wife, Bernell of Franklinton, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Stateline Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Stateline Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
