Mrs. Evelyn Ellis Shough

Mrs. Evelyn Ellis Shough, age 75 of Patrick Springs, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on March 6, 1933 to the late Everette Clinton and Mattie Sue Hutchens Ellis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shough was preceded in death by one son, Donald B. Shough; one son-in-law, Donald W. Corns; and one sister, Katherine Williams. She was a member of Critz Baptist Church, and was retired from W.M. Bassett Furniture Industry.
Mrs. Shough is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Corns of Patrick Springs, Gail and David Boyd of Martinsville, and Kaye and Gary Lee James of Martinsville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. and Donna P. Shough of Stuart and Barry Watson Shough of Harrisonburg; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Marie Harger of Martinsville; and one brother, Everette Ellis of Pearisburg.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shough will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Adam Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of Sharon Corns, 280 Dogwood Lane, Patrick Springs, Virginia.
